The History
It is a truth universally acknowledged that it is impossible to watch Saruman's balcony scene in the film of Two Towers without having Evita flashbacks. 'few finally caved in and filked "Don't Cry for Me, Minas Morgul" in the hopes that doing so would purge the thought from her brain. Alas, it just led to the development of an entire filk musical based on the films, with significant contributions from MariaV, plus the assistance of Kaarin, Caro, and Josie; suggestions and ideas also came from other regular daytime Austenchatters.
